Day to Day

Well, here it is spring and my last writing was at Christmas time.
Much has happened in the last 2 months.  "Life" has continued
right into 2011 without slowing down!

Starting early January our Ladies Bible Study started a weekly
study of the book of James using Dr. Wiersbe book as a guide.
I have enjoyed teaching it using some other commentaries in
my study.  It has been very good for me!!  It ends this week
and it is always sad to end a series and the fellowship there.

I finished my afghan which I have been working on for the past
couple of years.  It is a combination of two patterns and so it
doesn't really have a name, though it "covers" memories; i.e.,
when Larry was in the hospital in 2009-10 with the blood clot
issures, etc.  Got a lot of the motifs done there while sitting
with him.  Also, when my sister, Phyllis, was going through her
chemo treatments and was so, so sick.  We went for a week
to help them and again a lot was done there.  Also, Phyllis gave
me a big box of yarn to help me add more color.  So much
prayer was given while I crocheted... it was good to work with
the cheery and the heavy colors!

It was quite a job, but Larry figured it all out and moved our
washer and dryer from the basement to our garage.  So now
they are just the other side of the door going from the kitchen
to the garage.  Love it!!  It is so handy now.

His next project is to lay down a (laminated) wood floor in our
kitchen.  I am excited about that as the old floor just doesn't
"clean up" anymore.  Then he is going to put a new kitchen/
garage door in.

We are praying along with our son and daughter-in-law regarding
their adoption of a little girl from Ethiopia.  The paperwork, red-tape
and approvals with governments are moving right along.  Much
prayer for God's will and provisions, and for that particular little girl
he has for them ...us, too!!

Today, we are waiting to hear from my cousin about the details for
the funeral for her mother; my aunt.  She went to heaven yesterday
around noontime.  Larry and I are planning on making the trip to Iowa
for the funeral.  Aunt Dorothy put her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ
when she was somewhere in her 40's or 50's.  We are so glad she is
rejoicing with her Lord.  She is there with her parents, sisters, brother,
many friends.....   will you be there with her someday?

Well, this is just a catch-up post to say we are still here.  God's plan
for each day has been interesting, stretching, and trustworthy.  Praise
Him.
